Edward Southwell Ruthven 1774-1836

Born in County Down. He was M.P. for Downpatrick 1806-7 and again 1830-2. He was a radical, an O’Connell supporter and fellow MP for Dublin 1832-1836. He died in poverty in Westminster. His body was brought back and O’Connell laid the memorial stone on his grave.
