James Plunkett 1920-2003

Born James Plunkett Kelly in Dublin. He worked as a trade union official before joining Radio Éireann and then Telefís Éireann. He wrote plays, short stories and novels. His works include Homecoming, The Risen People, The Trusting and the Maimed, Strumpet City, Farewell Companions and The Gems She Wore. His remains were cremated after a service in Mount Jerome Cemetery, Dublin. In December 2003 the ashes were put into the family grave in Deansgrange Cemetery.
