Born in Dublin. She married a poor clergyman, was unfaithful to him and then followed him to London. She spent time in a debtor’s prison, ran a bookshop before it failed and eventually returned to Dublin. Her Memoirs are particularly important for their description of Swift’s last days. She is buried in Dublin.
