Tomás Ó Fiaich 1923-1990

Born in Crossmaglen, County Armagh. He lectured in history in Maynooth before he became its president in 1974. He was made Primate in 1977 and a cardinal two years later. He was an expert on the early Irish Christian missionaries. His works include Art MacCumhaigh, In Pursuit of an Ideal: Ireland, Christianity and Europe and Irish Cultural Influence in Europe VIth to XIIth Century. He is buried in Armagh.
