James O’Connor 1836-1910

He was a Fenian who was imprisoned for a number of years for his association with the paper The Irish People. He was editor of The Shamrock and also worked on The Irishman, United Ireland, The Freeman and other papers. His wife and four children died from eating mussels collected at Seapoint. The figures in the memorial over the grave represent his family. They are buried in Dublin.

Further information and directions to the grave are to be found in "Dead and Buried in Dublin - An Illustrated Guide to the Historic Graves of Dublin.  Click here to order a copy of this book
