Richard Millikin 1767-1815

Born in Castlemartyr, County Cork. He is best known for his poem The Groves of Blarney, although it was Francis Sylvester Mahony (Father Prout) who added the verse about kissing the stone. He is buried in County Cork. The grave is shown opposite.

 Near Milliken is the grave of   local antiquarian and historian Richard Caulfield 1823-1887 who wished to be buried beside his fellow historian Rev Samuel Hayman.
