Father Charles Patrick Meehan 1812-1890

Born in Dublin. A memorial in the church of SS Michael and John, Dublin, described him as a Priest, Patriot and Scholar. He attended the dying James Clarence Mangan and later edited his works. His own works include The Confederation of Kilkenny, The Rise and Fall of the Irish Franciscan Monasteries, The Poets and Poetry of Munster and The Fate and Fortunes of Hugh O’Neill, Earl of Tyrone  and Rory O’Donnell, Earl of Tyrconnell. He was buried in Dublin.
