Éamonn MacThomáis 1927-2002

Born in Dublin. He left school at 13. He later became a clerk. He was interned in the Curragh, 1957-58. In the 1970’s he edited An Phoblacht and was imprisoned for IRA membership.

            He was a writer, lecturer and broadcaster whose works include Me Jewel and Darlin’ Dublin, Gur Cakes and Coal Blocks, The Labour and the Royal and Janey Mack Me Shirt is Black. He is buried in Dublin.
