George Mann MacBeth 1932-1992

Born in Shotts, Lanarkshire. He worked for the BBC and was a member of The Group. He was known for his experimental and performance poetry. His poetic works include The Broken Places, The Night of Stones, The Orlando Poems, Poems of Love and Death and Anatomy of a Divorce. He also wrote a number of novels including The Samurai, The Seven Witches and Annas Book. He moved to Ireland a few years before his death. He is buried in Galway.
