Joseph McGrath 1887-1966

Born in Dublin. He fought in Marrowbone Lane in 1916. He was Minister for Labour 1922 and Minister for Industry and Commerce 1922-4. He resigned his Dáil seat in dispute with the government in 1924. In 1930 he founded the Irish Hospital Sweepstakes and he became a successful businessman and owned a string of horses which won all the major Irish classic races. He is buried in Dublin.
