John Kelly 1848-1896

Born in Bantry, County Cork, he was known as John Kelly of Tralee. One of the chief organisers of the Land League, the National League, the Plan of Campaign and the Parnellite Party after the split. He was imprisoned many times for his activities. A statue was erected to his memory in Market Square, Dundalk. He is buried in Dublin.
