Thomas Caulfield Irwin 1823-1892

Born in Warrenpoint, County Down. He wrote verse and prose as well as articles for the Nation. The Faerie’s Child is probably his best remembered work. His poems were collected in eight volumes and he also published some of his prose writings and a biography of Swift. His work included Irish Poems and Legends, Pictures and Songs and Winter and Summer Stories. He is buried in Dublin.
