Felicia Hemans 1793-1835

Born in Liverpool. She wrote three volumes of poetry between 1808 and 1812 and after her husband left her she wrote full-time. She was an extremely popular poet in her day. She came to live in Dublin in 1831 and stayed there until her death. She was the author of Casabianca which included the famous line - The Boy Stood on the Burning Deck and other works include The Stately Homes of England, Records of Women and The Siege of Valencia. She is buried in Dublin.
