James Harshaw 1797-1867

Born in Ringbane, Donaghmore, County Down. He kept a diary from 1838-1865 which gave a detailed insight into the lives of people in Counties Down and Armagh. The diaries made their way to America and were nearly destroyed before being rescued and brought back to Northern Ireland in 1996. He is buried in  County Down.
