Mary Colum 1884-1957

Born in Collooney, County Sligo. She was a member of Cumann na mBan and worked as a teacher under Pearse in St Enda’s. She married Padraic Colum in 1912 and went to America with him where they stayed until they died. She was a writer whose works include From These Roots, Life and the Dream and with her husband Our Friend James Joyce. She is buried with Padraic.
