Brian Cleeve 1921-2003

Born at Thorpe Bay, Essex. He ran away to sea at the age of 17 and served in the merchant navy during the Second World War. After the War he worked as a salesman, journalist and broadcaster. He wrote short stories, novels and works on metaphysical speculation. His works include The Far Hills, Birth of a Dark Soul, The Horse Thieves of Ballysaggart, Cry of Morning, Tread Softly on This Place, The House on the Rock, The Seven Mansions, The Fourth Mary, as well as a three volume Dictionary of Irish Writers. He is buried in Dublin.
