Thomas Patrick Bodkin 1887-1961
Born in Dublin. He was Director of the National Gallery of Ireland 1927-1935 and then became Barber Professor of Fine Arts in Birmingham. His works include Hugh Lane and His Pictures, The Approach to Painting and works on Vermeer and Rembrandt. He is buried in Dublin.
