Osborn Joseph Bergin 1872-1950

Born in Cork. He was Professor of Early and Medieval Irish at UCD from 1909-1940. He edited many old Irish texts and was general editor of the Royal Irish Academy’s Dictionary of the Irish Language. His works include Stories from Keating’s History of Ireland, Lebor na hUidre: Book of the Dun Cow and Maidin I mBéarra agus Dánta Eile. He is buried in Cork. There is no marker on the grave.
