Tom Barry 1897-1980

Born in Roscarberry, County Cork. He was Commandant General of the 3rd Cork Battalion, IRA. He fought on the Republican side in the Civil War and was interned. After the war he worked for the Cork Harbour Commission from 1927-1965. He wrote his account of the War of Independence in Guerrilla Days in Ireland. He is buried in Cork.
